Portfolio Update

I finally updated my Skateboard portfolio.  It was about time, as it's more then 2 years since the last update..

I'm still not feeling very well, struggling with concentration and on top of that I got a sinus infection. More reviews will be out as soon as the sinus infection clears out, so to speak.

Nikon SB-900 Review is out

Finally the Nikon SB-900 review is done.

I've had a hard time  concentrating lately, so it's taking me a bit longer to get the reviews out. Not to mention I'm working full time on top of writing these reviews:F
Weather situation have not really changed, it's still raining, like it always does in this city. Hopefully the weather will get better soon, so I can get some "real" shooting done.

More Reviews

The AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm was quite a shocker. Performance of the lens is not reflected by the price of the lens. This lens outperforms it´s price with ease. This lens is a perfect companion for the DX sized Nikon Dslr´s. It is unfortunate that the lens comes with a plastic mount, but unless you are going to change lenses thousands of times this should no be a problem. Seeing the lens has a plastic mount, sample variation might be higher then the metal mount lenses.

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G was a pleasant surprise, overall a solid performer. It outperforms the AF-D version on all aspects except on the IR performance. The IR performanc is pretty bad, and was actually worse then the AF-D 50mm f/1.4. In my tests with the samples I had, I found the AF-D version has an advantage of almost two f/ stops compared to the IR performance on the AF-S version. This is only on Infrared, if you don´t shot IR pictures this is nothing to worry about.
